Dianna Preston, Assistant Principal
My name is Diana Preston. I am a native of Smith County and
was raised on a tobacco farm in the Smith Hollow in
Difficult. I attended first and second grades at Difficult
School. When it closed in 1964, I completed my elementary
Education at Defeated Elementary School. Following my
graduation from Smith County High School in 1974, I attended
Tennessee Tech and received a Degree in elementary education
in 1978. I received my Masters Degree in Administration and
Supervision in 1996. It has been my privilege to have
Taught at Defeated Elementary for my entire career of 32
years. I teach Seventh grade English, literature, and
geography; and eighth grade English
And literature. I also serve as assistant principal. My
husband Donnell works at Dana Corporation. I am a member of
the Montrose Church of Christ. My hobbies are gardening and
helping my husband raise cattle. Cooking for my family is
my favorite pastime.
