To make the best BETTER.

4-H

All Forks River Students in grade 4- 8 are provided with the opportunity to participate in 4-H. The 4-H program is lead by Mr. Trent Jones and is an extension of the University of Tennessee agriculture department. 4-H encourages students to develop their unique skills and talents to the fullest potential. Young people participate in 4-H through clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camps and many other activities. "Learning by doing" through hands-on activities and community involvement empowers 4-H'er's to develop and strengthen life skills.

What is 4-H?

4-H is a community of more than 6.5 million young people across America learning leadership, citizenship and life skills.  The 4-H community also includes 3,500 staff, 538,000 volunteers and 60 million alumni. 4-Hers participate in fun, hands-on learning activities supported by the latest research of land-grant universities that are focused on three areas: healthy living, citizenship and science, engineering and technology. Youth can experience 4-H by becoming a member of a 4-H project group, attending a 4-H camp, or joining school-based 4-H programs. 4-Hers can compete with their projects in contests at the local, state, regional or national levels and also attend conferences and events.

Our mission is to help youth develop life skills, gain knowledge, and form positive attitudes in order to become capable, responsible and caring citizens.

As a component of the University of Tennessee, 4-H utilizes its vast resources and research base to pass on accurate and up-to-date information to 4-H members and their families.

4-H Emblem

The national emblem is a four-leaf clover with the letter "H" on each leaf. The "H" stands for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. The Four-Leaf Clover is a sign of "Good Luck."
