Pre- Kindergarten - Ellie Spike spikee@k12tn.net
My name is Mary Ellen Knight Spike
(Ellie). I have taught school for 21 years in the
Smith County School System. The majority of this time was at
Carthage Elementary School, where I taught first grade. I came to
FRS in 2004 to start the pre-k program. Pre-k has been, by
far, my favorite teaching experience. I really feel blessed to
be at FRS. I love the family atmosphere, and Mrs. Spivey is so
supportive of each of us. It is a great place to work, and a
wonderful, calm, safe environment for children to learn all of
the skills to be well-educated, productive members of society.
I am a graduate of Smith County High School and the
University of Missouri-Columbia. I received my Masters in
Educational Leadership from Tennessee Technological University.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband,
Robert and our family. Payton is in college and doing great. Jacob is
growing 8 1/2 acres of tobacco for the first time and has a tremendous crop. We
have two wonderful girls also. Emma is a 6 year old Welsh Corgi and Reece is a 3
year old miniature Dachshund. I also love to snow ski in the winter time,
and I enjoy growing all kinds of flowers. I especially love to make bouquets
for our home. There
is something about the beauty and the fragrance of fresh cut
flowers that really seems to brighten up any day.
If you need to meet with me my planning time is 8:30-9:00.
