     I began my teaching career in 2001 in Kentucky. I was a general music teacher and band director for four years before moving back to Tennessee.  I received my bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University and my master's degree from Tennessee Technological University. I have taught in Smith County for seven years as a general music teacher. I feel that each of our students is blessed to have access to a quality music program that can do so much to increase their brain function and development. While I travel from school to school, it can be hard but I love getting to see so many children in the county.

  I live in Lebanon with my four-legged boys, Merle and Tripp. My family lives nearby in Mt. Juliet and Murfreesboro, so I get to spend much of my free time with them and my friends. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking and kayaking. But when stuck inside, I find plenty to do with bead work, knitting, and other crafts. And I always love a good trip to a show at TPAC or the Schermerhorn.
