FORKS RIVER PTO MINUTES FROM MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

OLD BUSINESS:

(1) Library renovation. Very special thanks to Tina Gantenbein and Jenny Ford

along with Ms. Melinda Spivey for their help. The Library looks wonderful!

Once again, the Walk-A-Thon was discussed. This year, it is scheduled for

October 31, 2006 beginning at 8:30 a.m. (held in the gym in the event of

rain. The Walk-A-Thon is pretty much going to be done on the same scale

as last year with a few new prizes this year, i.e. sports bottles, CD cases.

Discussion of marquis sign: Community Bank will probably donate, but

they are going through a transition period right now. As soon as all of that is

squared away, we should know more.

NEW BUSINESS:

Mrs. Spivey asked for each teacher to be given $150.00 per class to purchase any items deemed necessary for classrooms. The motion was made to give each teacher $200.00.

Discussion regarding donating a computer for the Walk-A-Thon up to $500.00 in the

event that one is not donated for us.

Discussion regarding purchasing a grill and hot dog machine for the basketball games concessions, which was not agreed upon. Also, our Nacho machine is broken. We are trying to get it repaired. If this is unsuccessful, we will see if one can be donated to us; if not, then the PTO has agreed to purchase one, not exceeding $150.00. Furthermore, it was discussed and agreed that we buy pizzas from Pizza Hut, UNCUT PIZZAS, and sell

slices that we cut ourselves at the ballgame concessions.

(4) Purchasing new basketball uniforms was made, and this will be brought up at our Spring

meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
