PRINCIPAL’S NEWS

Congratulations SCMS!!!  We are in the top 9 middle schools in Tennessee based on our Value Added scores.  These scores come from our TCAP scores over the past three years.

EIGHTH GRADE GRADUATION

The Eighth grade graduation has been set for May 19^th at 7:00pm.

YEARBOOKS

BOOK FAIR

The Library is currently having its end of year book fair.  Everything is ½ price.  Stop by the Library to see what they have.

BAND NEWS

The annual Spring Festival will be held this year on Friday May 9^th at the SCHS Gym. The concert begins at 6:00 and will feature the 5^th, 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade bands from SCMS as well as the high school band, chorus, and jazz band.

8^th grader Conner Dodson for winning the DAR essay contest

7^th grader Abigail Nesbitt for placing 1^st in the Smith County Tennessee Farm Bureau essay contest

8^th grader Lee Holliman for winning 2^nd place in the Tennessee Law Enforcement Officers Association essay and receiving $200

8^th grader Casey Rushing for winning Best Catapult in Coach Kelley’s Science class

6^th grader Diana Phillips for tying for 2^nd place  in the Upper Cumberland Region Math Competition at TTU
